Maison Downton is jointly owned by Andrew, Joanna, Paddy and Sara Downton, and has belonged to the family since 1982 when it was purchased by their parents Jeanne and Frank as a derelict Cave (the building in the foreground) and Barn (the building to the right and behind). The Cave was renovated for habitation in 1983 and the barn in 1985, providing a pair of interlinked 2 bedroom cottages, each with their own kitchen and bathroom. Other improvements have gradually been added, most recently a swimming pool (with motorised cover), pool room/garden shed, and a containing wall for the front garden in 2003.
