A photograph album was found in the house of William Edwin Stanier
after his death. There is no direct evidence that it is of his family,
but some of the names given suggest it was. There are few of these,
and in most cases are on the pages of the album rather than on the
card, so may not refer to the card on the page. And there is no way of
telling when the names were added. or by whom.

Back has a handwritten name, which might be "Emma Powles"
Census records show several Emma Powles in Birmingham, including one born in MON [but she was
given as 62 in the 1901 census (RG13/2863 f115 p37), thus seemingly to old to
be the pictured girl]. One apparently of the right age was born 1879, daughter of Thomas
and Emma Powles (RG11/2989 f65 p29), but the connection with the Staniers
is unknown
