Carlos Jaimez

My name is Carlos Jaimez, and I am from Mexico City. I am currently a lecturer-researcher at the Department of Information Tecnologies, of the Universidad Autónoma Metropolitana, campus Cuajimalpa, Mexico. I am a member of the Distributed Systems and Networks Research Group. My research interests include distributed systems, middleware, web services, web application development, interoperability in distributed systems, and e-commerce technologies.

I am a PhD candidate in the School of Computer Science and Electronic Engineering at the University of Essex, under the supervision of Dr. Simon M. Lucas. My research is related to distributed objects, and web services. I have developed a framework called Web Objects in XML (WOX), which is an object-based distributed system. It is written in Java and C#, and uses XML for object representation. I am currently writing up my thesis.

I hold a BSc in Computer Science from the Universidad Autónoma Metropolitana (Mexico), and an MSc in E-Commerce Technology from the University of Essex (United Kingdom).

I have been involved in several software projects as Developer, Team Leader, and Database Oficer; in which I have used different technologies, systems, and programming languages. I am a Microsoft Certified Trainer (MCT), Systems Engineer (MCSE), Database Administrator (MCDBA), and Solution Developer (MCSD).
