Ramadan 2006

We would like to exploit the opportunity of the advent of Ramadan to congratulate you all on this occasion and wish you very blessed days throughout this Holy Month.

We have almost finalized all our preparations in the Islamic Society to welcome this Holy Month with all our facilities put in the service of our brothers and sisters. Hence, we will start Tarweeh prayers from the last night of Shabaan, which you will be notified about as soon as we have a clear notice. All the prayers in Ramadan including Taraweeh will take place in the Hexagon, next to the Blues Café and above the North Towers' Launderette. This is where all Iftar meals will be served as well.

We would like to encourage you all as well to participate in all activities that the Society is willing to organize throughout Ramadan. We would like also to draw your attention to the invaluable reward of your donations throughout this month. In order to provide you with a detailed account of our activities throughout this Holy Month, we have prepared Ramadan Booklet for our members to collect after Jumaa Prayer.

Finally, we would like to express our best wishes for you and the whole Muslim Nation in this month, asking Allah to accept our deeds, multiply our reward and grant us His mercy and forgiveness, now and ever. May Allah accept your good deeds, and multiply your reward many times over.

RAMADAN IFTAR

The Ramadan Committee in the Islamic Society Centre / Masjid informs you that the Ramadan Iftar tickets will be sold after Jumaah, Magrib and Isha (taraweeh) prayer. Please read the attached regulations. Additional information are available in the Masjid.

1- The ticket (cost 2 pounds per day) should be bought at least one day before the day you intend to take Iftar on. However, you can buy one week, 2 weeks, or the whole month’s tickets in advance if you wish

2- The tickets are issued weekly. However, you can purchase the number of days you wish using this weekly ticket. Please make sure you bring your ticket signed (paid) for the intended day. Tickets with the wrong date will not be accepted. For example, the 2nd day’s ticket will not be accepted for the first day and vice-versa, and the same applies for all the other days.

3- In case you did not manage to buy the Iftar’s ticket one day before, then you will have to wait until all the ticket-holders take their meals and then buy the available tickets on that day but at a higher rate of £4. We cannot guarantee a meal for the same-day buyers, as we only cater for the ticket sold in advance.

4- The meals will be distributed after Magrib prayers immediately. You have to claim your meal with your ticket on that time. If in any case you will not be able to come, you can give a friend of yours your ticket so he or she will collect your meal on your behalf, otherwise we will not be able to guarantee your meal.

5- Unfortunately, we will not be able to guarantee a meal if you do not present your ticket, please make sure not to forget or lose your tickets, as priority is given to ticket-holders.

6- Tickets are non-refundable.

7- Tickets will be sold weekly after Jumaa prayer and daily after Maghrib and Taraweeh prayers. However, you do not need to purchase a ticket for the 8th, 16th and 24th of Ramadan as Iftar will be sponsored by the Saudi Student Club.

8- If you have any personal issues that prevent you from following the rules above, please contact a member of the committee (available after each prayer).

Finally your suggestions and ideas as well as your co-operation and support will be highly appreciated. May Allah accept and reward all your good deeds.
