ABOUT ME
Mahmoud El-Haj is a PhD candidate at the School of Computer Science and Electronic Engineering at Essex University.
Mahmoud's main field of interest and research area is the Arabic and English multi-document text summarisation.
Other fields of interest include Arabic Natural Language Processing
(A-NLP) and Information Retrieval (IR).
Mahmoud is a member at the interdisciplinary Language and

Mahmoud was a reviewer for the
32nd European Conference on Information Retrieval CIR 2010 and
the
2nd IEEE International Conference on Computer and Communication
Technology ICCCT-2011)
His paper titled "Experimenting with Automatic Text Summarisation
for Arabic" was selected for the best paper award at the
4th
International Language and Technology Conference (LTC).
Mahmoud is the co-organiser for the
MultiLing Summarisation Pilot at the
Text Analysis
Conference (TAC) 2011 in Maryland, USA.
