Biography: I obtained My MSc with distinction in Telecommunication and Information Systems and PhD in Electronic Systems Engineering from the University of Essex. My BSc Degree is in Electronic and Electrical Engineering and from S.B.U (Meli) university in IRAN. I am currently an Academic member of the High-Performance Networking Group, in School of Computer Science and Electronic Engineering, University of Essex. I have over ten years of academic and industrial experience in the field of telecommunication and computer science. The main current areas of my research interests are application of ultra high-speed network technologies for future Internet, design and control issues for service oriented and application-aware networks, network virtualization as well as high-performance network architecture and technologies for e-science applications. I'm married to Roshan, a Biomedical Engineer, and have two sons , Aryan and Artin. In my little spare time from work I play with my son, I'm also a big fan of snow and water skiing.

Studentship Opportunities: Applications are invited for an EPSRC-funded research studentship on following research topics: Design and implementation of a programmable Optical Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (O-OFDM) transmitter and receiver Deployment and adaptation of O-OFDM technology for programmable core optical networks The studentship will pay the tuition fees and will also provide a generous tax-free maintenance stipend (for UK students, and nationals of other EU member states who have been resident in the UK for three years before commencing the studentship) of £16,000 per year for a period of three years and six months from October 2011.
