Message from the Club President regarding alumni day 2010:

Dear Alumnus,

On behalf of all of us at UERC we hope you are well and still getting to compete in this most epic of sports. We would like to thank you all for this year’s Alumni day! Unfortunately for the last two years we have been unable to organize one however this year we hosted a fun-filled day for both Alumni and family of our rowers. The general idea of the day was to give our current rowers a chance to meet you in a fun and relaxed atmosphere. We did a few Alumni vs. UERC races and of course there was the obligatory bbq and beers throughout the day.

We asked our Alumni members to write down old memories of their time at Essex and asked for them to include their emails for a Newsletter being sent out at the end of this academic year!

Are you an alumnus of UERC? If so, we have recently set up a club for all ex-members. It doesn't matter how long you were a member for or how long ago it was that you were here.

Each year we shall be hosting an alumni event, whereby all alumni come back for a social day. We will have some fun races where the oldies race the current members - that will sort the men from the boys and the Ladettes from the Ladies! We shall also be producing a newsletter once a year that will be e-mailed out to everyone on our mailing list.

As you all know the club is hard to maintain. Alumni events are a key way to maintain our connection with the history of the club and secure this great community for the future. Please support our club with through the UERC Alumni Fund! Donations are welcome!
