HEAD Season underway
BUCS Head, Peterborough and Norwich RC Head, River Yare - Norwich
BUCS Head in Peterborough saw a men’s IM3 4+ [Intermediate] and a men’s IM3 8+with notable mention of Malte Hinrichsen who joined the club this year 2010-11 rowing at 2 seat in the men’s first 8, only having rowed since October. The Men’s intermediate coxed four came 17th with a time of 18:07.7 stroked by Captain Martin Pendlebery.
Norwich Head was a resounding success with more boats and people on the
water than Essex has ever seen before. Six boats were entered, two men’s
4s, two men’s 8s and a women’s 8 and 4. The Women’s 4 came 12th out of
40 boats in the short division which was 2,500m long, while all other
five boats competed in the long division of 5k. All achieved respectable
times. The Women’s 8 and men’s first 8 are worthy of highlighting as the
women’s 8 won their division and the men came in 9th out of 34 boats.
The men’s first 8 came a respectable 2nd place in their division
completing the course in 14 minutes. The majority of the fresher’s squad
raced for the first time and made Essex very proud. We now look forward
to the future with the Hammersmith Head and Head of the River fast
approaching, we have high hopes!
The Men’s fresher 4, stroked by Senior Shaan Grewal included Julian Luxi,
Adam Brookes and Michael Schweda.
