Brief Bio:

I was born in Cremona, Italy, in April 1971, where I lived until starting college in Milan, at Bocconi University in September 1990. I graduated in Economics and Statistics (DES), with honors in July 1995, under the supervision of Sandro Brusco.  In August 1995, I started a PhD in Economics at Northwestern University, in Evanston, IL. I defended my thesis in June 2000, with main advisors Eddie Dekel and Juuso Valimaki. In June 2000, I started my position as Assistant Professor at the University of Rochester, Department of Economics.  In September 2003, I have been tenured with a Lectureship (Assistant Professorship) in Economics at the University, College London. Since November 2006, I have been inducted to a Professorship at the Universitadegli Studi di Brescia, Department of Economics. Since September 2007, I have been inducted to a Professorship at the University of Essex, Department of Economics.

My main research interests are in economic theory and political economy, specifically: voting models of political competition, formal models of international relations, communication games, dynamic games with asymmetric information, game-theoretical foundations of contract theory and law and economics, and market models and mechanism design models with bounded rational agents.
