Swadesh Kumar Samanta studied both the MSc and PhD at School
of Computer Science and Electronic
Engineering, University of Essex. He
received the B.Eng degree in Electronics and Telecommunications Engineering
from University of Calcutta, India in
1991. He has more than 15 years of work experience in Indian Telecom and
Nuclear Energy Industries. He was recipient of prestigious British Chevening
Scholarship and UK-India Education and Research Initiative PhD Scholarship. In
his last assignment he was responsible for sales and distribution of BSNL
products and services in three north eastern states; Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur
and Nagaland. He worked as Director in the Department of Telecommunication/BSNL
for government of India
and currently on leave. Since July 2010 he is a visiting fellow at University of Essex and conducting research on
information delivery, cost modelling and business analysis for next generation
networks and services.
