2) He was first in order of merit in State Engineering Entrance Examination in 1987 from his district of Midnapore in West Bengal.

3) He secured 84% of marks and stood first in order of merit in Bachelor of Engineering from University of Calcutta, India in 1991.

4) He passed MSc with distinction (80% of marks) from University of Essex, UK in 2003-04.
