Political Support in Canada, 2004. Version 1.0 Updated 6 September 2008
The Political Support in Canada (PSC) project for 2004 was funded through NSF grant SES #0420401 to Professor Allan Kornberg of Duke University and grant SES #0422569 awarded to Professor Allan Kornberg and Dr. Thomas J. Scotto (University of Essex). Additional support for this project came via a Canadian Embassy Faculty Research Grant awarded to Thomas Scotto and Dr. Jason Reifler (Georgia State University). Harold Clarke (University of Texas at Dallas) was a major collaborator on the project. The survey consists of three waves, a pre-election study (N=2495) administered by the telephone that went into the field immediately prior to Canada's 2004 federal election, a post-election study (N=1361) administered via the telephone that went into the field immediately after the June, 2004 election, and a mail-back study (N=1058) that was in the field approximately 2 months after the federal election. The appropriate weights are zprewgt (pre-election study), zpostwgt (post-election study), and mailwgt (mailback study). Questions regarding the data should be directed to Thomas Scotto (tscott@essex.ac.uk).
